Custom Sports Lighting Brightens Up Indian Wells Tennis Garden
The Indian Wells Tennis Garden challenged Valmont to bring its custom engineering expertise to sports lighting. Instead of a standard ground-mount pole, Indian Wells wanted their product mounted onto the stadium itself. Valmont engineered three poles, ranging from 52 feet to 75 feet, which varied in height based off their location on the building. The poles attached to the building with two specialty connections for maximum support. The connections were manufactured with considerations for wind, fatigue and seismic provisioning. By engineering a standard light pole to mount on the side of the stadium, Valmont lit up the Tennis Garden while adding to the stadium’s aesthetic design.
