Valmont’s Idyline Poles Bring European Aesthetic to Dallas Arboretum
For decades, area lighting projects in the United States featured straight round or square poles. As the needs of customers changed and different aesthetics became increasingly popular, Valmont knew it needed to expand its offering. Utilizing its global presence, Valmont was able to add the curved Idyline pole to its U.S. product catalog. Shortly after, Valmont partnered with The Dallas Arboretum to utilize this European design. Instead of lighting its parking lots and walkways with standard straight poles, the client wanted the new poles to extend the beauty of the park and forest throughout the area, and the Valmont Idyline pole was the perfect fit.
The client’s landscape architect praised the Idyline design because it met the client’s vision and provided a unique look that no other manufacturer had available. Valmont’s well-known engineering and commitment to customer satisfaction sealed the deal. The engineering team was able to accommodate the customer’s additional special requirements by designing a custom shroud that connected the pole and light fixture. As a result, the final product was a structurally sound and visually appealing whole.
By the end of 2013, all 91 poles had been installed and the client was very pleased with the effective partnership and impactful results. In fact, the client was so pleased that it named Valmont’s Idyline design as its pole standard to be used in all upcoming projects. With the customer-focused mindset, Valmont will proudly continue to excel in ensuring total satisfaction!
